Got an in depth project such as a turbo, swap, 5 lug, rally car, etc? Post it here.

I think it's because every other pulse is going to be 360* off no matter what. the stock batch fire is maybe better because the "off" pulses are more balanced by ones that are close to correct.

I'll mention the other method on msextra, who knows maybe they'll add that ability..

I think your correct as its set up with 2 pulse injection with semi sequential enabled. It will do the exact same thing with wasted spark, fire twice in one cylinder rotation.

Not much of an update, weight matched my connecting rods to the nearest .1g and ordered a new oil pump, rod bolts, VAC springs & retainers. Need to save a little more to order the cam.

Only things lacking are: oil cooler o-rings, t-stat housing gasket, t-stat, and parts to show up...

Well I just got e-mail conformation the pistons will be in on monday!

Ordered the cam, retainers and spring from VAC, they wanted to send my engine specs over to their cam builder and see if they would want to make a custom grind for it or what? I am waiting to hear back from them to see.

New oil pump and rod bolts will be here friday... Should have new pics up monday!

doh! I did the same thing, because I "saved" $1 and bought the cheaper ring compressor at Napa. That ended up costing me $75 to have a new ring sent overnight from Metric Mechanic. Fuck. Next time, I'm buying the best ring compressor I can find.. lol

I'm glad it didn't cost that much, $30 for a new single ring 2nd day air. I already have the last piston installed this morning.

I've got a really good MAC tools ring compressor with interchangeable rings for different sized pistons. It's come in handy for about 5 engines I've built since I bought it.

It just got away from me and I didn't see it untill I tapped it down, and crunch...doh.

yeah, that looks excellent - exactly what I need! I'm still a couple years from building the new motor though. :)

BTW the $75 was mostly shipping costs - I had a week to do a 5 speed swap, drivetrain and suspension build, build the motor, put it in the car and get it running. So I couldn't afford to lose more time than I already had. Jim at MM said he'd never heard of somebody breaking a ring before..

I ordered one of these today:

I don't like having oil fumes everywhere, this should help. And I'm still waiting on the cam, and a -10an bulkhead fitting for the oil pan drain.
